Romany Wagon Retreat in Wales is an original romantic glamping romany gypsy wagon caravan in a woodland meadow beside a stream situated in rural hills, five miles inland from the picturesque Cardigan Bay and Coastal Path in the West of Wales. We are 12 miles from the small market town of Cardigan. Magically tucked away in the corner of a wildflower meadow, surrounded by a small woodland beside a stream, hidden in a valley, a romany wagon appears…The Romany Caravan/Gypsy Wagon is an original, built in the 1920’s. The Wagon is set in its own acre of private riverside meadow and woodland, with a cabin (kitchen and shower room) with a ‘tree house’ feel verandah with a table and chairs, a barbeque area, riverside campfire area and a further all weather camp fire area. The field is protected as a Site of Special Scientific Interest as it is home to otters.
The wagon has
- A Double bed made up for your arrival
- Traditional pot-belly ‘Queenie’ stove (not in use) and cupboards
- Extra blankets and hot water bottles are supplied
- An electric heater with lights inside and out
- Electric blanket available during the winter months
Woodland steps lead from the wagon up to the Cabin. The Cabin is split into three rooms – the kitchen, shower-room and garden room.
KITCHEN – In the kitchen there is a full size fridge, combination microwave/electric oven, kettle, toaster etc, traditional butler sink, CD player, settee, table, stools and electric heater.
SHOWER ROOM – The shower room there is an electric shower, flushing loo, and electric heater.
GARDEN ROOM – In the garden room there is wooden bench seating, table and pot-belly stove.
The verandah leads from the garden room, surrounded by trees, giving a romantic and secluded ‘tree house’ feel with wooden seating and table
