Glamping Wales

Glamping at Tyn-y-fron Shepherds Hut and Cabin near Bala, Wales is a complete escape from the busy outside world. Tyn-y-fron at the foothills of the Berwyn Mountains is a 13 acre smallholding in the most beautiful setting, about halfway between Bala and Corwen and half a mile from the road offering seclusion with the added benefit that we are not too hard to find.

Set alone in a sheltered corner of our smallholding overlooking the River Dee, your only neighbours are sheep or chickens. We are offering a wonderfully cosy Shepherds Hut with room on site for one or two other tents and a warm and welcoming Cabin which will sleep four. The wonderful view and aspect makes this site unique and magically private for the perfect getaway break.

The Hut consists of a comfy double bed, dining area, woodburning stove and the use of adjacent well equipped camp kitchen and toilet and shower block. We provide bedding and your first supply of wood for the stove and we can sell you wood by the sack as required. All you need to bring is yourselves.

The comfortable Cabin accommodates up to four people in a double plus single bunk and futon. The Cabin also includes free use of the shower block, camp kitchen and hot water.  You are welcome to bring a dog to stay in the Cabin as long as it is kept on a lead at all times.

Although the Shepherds Hut and Cabin do not have en suite bathrooms we do have a very good shower block almost adjacent plus a well equipped camp kitchen with everything you need for camp cooking. There is a designated bonfire site if you prefer the more pioneering approach.

We have hens, cats, a Jack Russell and a Lurcher. Our other neighbours include a wonderful selection of wildlife, including squirrels, foxes, hedgehogs and assorted small mammals. They may be hard to spot, but they will be watching you! You will see soaring buzzards regularly, occasional red kite and other hawks, and a fine selection of song birds, including green woodpecker, jays and more besides.

In short a Tyn-y-fron holiday offers the romance of a back-to-nature experience which you will remember for years to come.
